Mom’s Night Out

So, I’ve been rather busy lately.  It’s been so long since I’ve blogged, but that’s nothing new.  Between work and school and domestic stuff, I hardly have time for anything else.

Things have been going pretty smooth so far.  I’m not ready to pull out my hair, yet.  I wish I had more time for writing, but I have to fit it in when I can.  Priorities and all.  I sent off my proposal to Sterling Publishing last week and crossed my fingers.  It would be really nice to get a book deal.  Maybe I’m dreaming, but it’s a nice dream to have and it gives me something to hope for.  If M is For Mom, Not Maid doesn’t take me anywhere, I guess it will be okay.  I wrote a frikin book and I’m proud of that.

On another note, this past weekend was really fun.  We had a birthday party for Carter and he had a great time. The adults had a great time too.  Great food + great company = great times.  I finally got my night out and didn’t have to wake up in the morning to take care of the kids (thanks mom!).  I couldn’t tell you the last time I was up until 5 in the morning!! I had a blast though and any tired feelings were well worth it.

We hit up Bourbon Street, a pool hall, and then home for some Karaoke.  While everyone else went to bed, Q and I were singing our butts off.  (loso in case you ain’t noso hahaha.. inside joke).  The two of us, singing duets, together (haha).  The two tired parents who are used to falling asleep so early, were actually the last two standing in the end.  It was awesome.  A weekend to remember.  (I don’t get out much).

I’m looking forward to my next night out.

It's about time!!
I'll take this time out!
