Autism takes up a lot of my time. It takes a lot of my patience and it takes a lot of my energy.
I want to dedicate this blog to my daughter, Vanessa. With all that goes on around us with Carter, she’s always such a great help. She’s a really good big sister and a great daughter. I don’t think I tell her that enough. Of course, there are times when I just wanna….grrrrrr, but you know how it is.
All in all, she’s just great. Couldn’t really ask for a better daughter or a better sister for Carter. Dealing with autism is tough. Not just for Carter, but for everyone. Vanessa never complains when I say I can’t do something and she doesn’t act out when I’m dealing with Carter. She’s kind of mature for her age and I think sometimes we might expect too much from her and give her a hard time. I forget she’s just a kid sometimes.
Even with my frustration and impatience and through my bad moods, she’s still there to help with Carter. And she’s always such a trooper.
I love that kid so much. Thank you for being you, Vanessa. Thank you for being so great and understanding.
